Discussion and Dinner: Supporting International Student WritersFebruary 21, 2019 at 5–8 p.m.

Join Rebecca Fremo and Eric Vrooman (Writing Program) and Carly Overfelt and Roger Adkins (CICE) for a lively, pragmatic discussion of ways to support international student writers in our courses. We will view portions of the film "Writing Across Borders," which features international students talking about their writing experiences, and we'll discuss strategies for responding to and evaluating our international students' work. Fremo and Vrooman will discuss best practices from the Writing Center and WAC perspectives, and Overfelt and Adkins will highlight the needs and experiences of international students at Gustavus. All participants will be provided with a copy of an article ("Will Our Stories Help Teachers Understand?") to prepare for the discussion.
