Discover the OutdoorsMay 2, 2021 at 1–4 p.m.
The Environmental Action Coalition is hosting Discover the Outdoors Day in honor of Earth Day on April 25 from 1-4 p.m. in the Arboretum. Discover the Outdoors was founded in 2017 with the hope of sharing the outdoors with people of all ages, but due to COVID-19, the event will not be open to the public this year. Typically held in the spring around Earth Day, countless events, games, and exploration opportunities are available throughout the day including fly fishing practice, a pond study, scavenger hunt, crafts, and more. Major student organization hosts include Environmental Action Coalition, CAB, Fly Fishing Club, Students for Reproductive Freedom, Ducks Unlimited, Geology Club, Chemistry Club, and Society of Physics Students to name a few. This event is free and open to Gustavus students only. This year will include COVID-19 protocols, including masking and social distancing. Come for the Earth, stay for the fun.
