BIONIC (Believe It Or Not I Can): Disabilities Awareness Week is devoted to increasing awareness of disabilities and disabled persons in the Gustavus community and in the community at large.

Tuesday, April 22
6-8 p.m. -- "Experiential Night" is an evening of fun, educational and experimental activities that mimic the challenges faced by persons with disabilities to increase the awareness of the challenges faced by the disabled community, in Banquet Room C.

Wednesday, April 23
7-9 p.m. -- Betty Hanna from Fairview Medical Center and Jean Grossman, a job training counselor for the developmentally disabled for over 20 years, will be speaking about disabilities and how they can effectively be recognized and adapted to a mainstream community physically, emotionally and socially.

Thursday, April 24
7-9 p.m. -- "Overcoming Challenges," an open mic event, will discuss challenges that have been overcome by everyone, disabled persons and the non-disabled alike, in the Courtyard Cafe.

Friday, April 25
6-7 p.m. -- The I Am...We Are theatre troupe will present an exciting, dramatic performance and workshop on the many issues that face the daily life of persons with disablilties and their surrounding communities, in the Dive.

Saturday, April 26
8 p.m.- 1 a.m. -- "Filling the House" will include live bands, games, and other fun activities, in Lund Center.
