Combine Graduate School and a Service ProgramOctober 22, 2014 at noon to 1 p.m.
Are you interested in combining graduate school with service in either Peace Corps or VISTA? Michigan Tech offers programs in 11 departments (Biology; Civil and Environmental Engineering; Computer Science; Electrical and Computer Engineering; Environmental and Energy Policy; Forestry; Geology; Industrial Archaeology; Mechanical Engineering; Rhetoric, Theory and Culture; and Science Education) that combine practical service opportunities with time on campus. Most students spend one academic year on campus, then either two years in Peace Corps or one year in VISTA, followed by one more semester back on campus. Some programs accept students from any undergraduate academic discipline.
If you would like more information there will be a presentation and question and answer session on
Wednesday, October 22nd
Noon to 1 pm
Linner Lounge.
Michigan Tech is located on the beautiful Keweenaw Peninsula, surrounded by Lake Superior. The rural and remote location provides outstanding recreational opportunities. The Peace Corps assignments may be in any of the 65 countries where Peace Corps currently places Volunteers. The VISTA Volunteers are placed through programs with the Department of Interior throughout the United States and its territories.
