Description
The Gustavus Alumni Association invites you to an evening of jazz with Kurt Elling at the Green Mill.

Join Chicago area Gusties, parents, and students at the Green Mill on Wednesday, August 7, for a performance by three-time Grammy nominee jazz vocalist Kurt Elling '89. The show begins at 9:00 p.m. but you are encouraged to arrive early for a seat. Green Mill does serve dinner but you are welcome to bring in takeout. Wear your most fashionable Gustavus apparel so we can gather as a group and Kurt can identify you. There is a $5 per person cover charge. Call your Gustie friends for a night of fun and entertainment.

The Green Mill is one of famous gangster Al Capone's (check out his photo on the baby grand behind the bar) former speakeasies from the Prohibition-era roaring '20s and has also been a hangout of Charlie Chaplin and Gloria Swanson. The oldest jazz club in the US (and presumably the world), it remains one of the city's liveliest jazz venues.
