The Gustavus Geography Department is sponsoring the following events to celebrate Geography Awareness Week:

  • Trivia at Patrick's!Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 7:00pm with Geography-related trivia questions.
  • Ice Core Paleoclimatology: Using Glaciers to Study how Earth's Climate has Changed - talk by Dr. Paolo Gabrielli, Principal Investigator, Byrd Polar Research Center, Ohio State University (via video-conference) " Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 12:30-1:30pm(Location: to be determined)

  • Where does your cafeteria food come from?Friday, Nov. 21 all day at the Gustavus Marketplace.
  • Lecture on "Paleoecology Using Phytolith Analysis. e/strong>Friday, Nov. 21 from 9:00 " 9:50 am in Nobel Hall, room 105.The talk will be given by Dr. M. Blinnikov, St. Cloud State University.
  • Discussion on "Current Affairs in Russia & the Ukraine ewith Dr. M. Blinnikov, St. Cloud State UniversityFriday, Nov. 21 from 2:30 " 3:30pm in the Heritage Room in the Jackson Campus Center.
  • Geocaching in the Arb.Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1:00 - 3:00pm at the Melva Lind Interpretive Center / Linneaus Arboretum on the Gustavus campus. Cider and snacks will be provided.
