You are invited to a welcome reception for Tonya Kjerland and Amy Pehrson, the new Director and Assistant Director of the Community Based Service & Learning Office (CBSL) directly outside of the CBSL office in the Johnson Student Union.

Prior to joining Gustavus, Tonya Kjerland worked as the Academic Civic Engagement Coordinator at St. Olaf College. Tonya has also worked in the Office of Institutional Research Evaluation at St. Olaf, as well as in the Science Education Resources Center (SERC) at Carleton College. Tonya earned her Master's of Science in Water Resources Science from the University of Minnesota. Her research interests include wild rice ecology, water quality, and community development.

Amy Pehrson, new Assistant Director of the CBSL, has been an employee of Gustavus for 25 years and has served the College in various capacities including in the Finance Office, the Office of Church Relations, the Center for Vocational Reflection, the Center for Servant Leadership, and most recently as an Assistant Director in the Campus Activities Office with responsibilities for Peer Education and Mentoring, as well as advisor to the Peer Assistants.
