Be A Light: The Ghostlight ProjectJanuary 19, 2017 at 5:15–6:30 p.m.

On January 19, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. in each time zone across the country, members of the theatre & dance community - from Broadway to regional theaters to high schools and colleges and community theaters - will come together to launch The Ghostlight Project. Inspired by the tradition of leaving a "ghost light" on in a darkened theater, artists and communities will make or renew a pledge to stand for and protect the values of inclusion, participation, and compassion for everyone?? regardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, (dis)ability, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

We ask attendees to begin gathering at 5:15 pm outside of Anderson Theatre. Please bring a source of light (flashlight, cell phone - no lighters or candles). The lighting of the Ghostlight takes place outside - please dress as weather dictates. Feel free to bring friends! This event is open to EVERYONE!

Gathering outside of the theatre, our artists along with community members will join in a collective, simultaneous action, together creating a "light eas a pledge that it is safe to be who you are.
