AfrikaNow Fika (sponsored by the African/African Diaspora Studies Program)  gives the Gustavus community an opportunity to learn about current events on the African continent and in the African diaspora. We invite faculty to discuss their work or interest in Africa and the diaspora in an informal and approachable way and invite students to ask questions and get better acquainted with our faculty, the African community on campus, and the continent and its diaspora. The format for these events will differ based on the speaker’s preference, ranging from informal presentations, casual conversation with a moderator, or other presentation styles. The aim of the event is to get students asking questions and conversing with the presenting faculty (or guest) as we want to facilitate dialog and grow interest in our community.
