Description
Guante is a hip hop artist, social justice activist, spoken-word artist, and two-time National Poetry Slam champion who performs on various social justice related topics. As can be seen in some of his notable performances including "Smalltalk," and "Ten Responses to the Phrase 'Man Up,'" he performs with passion, and conveys powerful and thought-provoking messages in his performances. Guante will be putting on a performance at Gustavus on the construction of gender, masculinity, identity, and ally-ship. Following the event, he will host an optional workshop on the performance as a means to help people process and reflect upon the night's messages.
