Announcement: 2017 Nobel Conference Discussion Group

We invite community members who are interested in helping to plan the 2017 Nobel Conference to come to the 49'ers Room in the Campus Center on Thursday, December 10 at 4:30 pm; Friday, December 11 at 3:30; or Monday, December 14 at 4:30to share their thoughts and suggestions.

The working theme of the conference is "Reproductive Technologies: How Far Do We Go? e/strong> From artificial insemination to cloning to in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer, the proliferation of reproductive technologies raises a host of complex scientific, social, and ethical questions. How has reproduction been assisted or suppressed through scientific discovery in the past? What social, emotional, and legal complications arise from these developments? What role should ethics play in determining which reproductive technologies should be explored and which procedures are available and to whom? How will continuing scientific and technological innovations change the way we think about reproduction itself?

We hope that this theme will appeal to community members across campus.
