2012 Interdenominational Welsh Hymn FestivalSeptember 23, 2012 at 1:30–4 p.m.
The 77th Minnesota Interdenominational Welsh Hymn Festival will be held on Sunday, September 23 at 1:30 at the First Presbyterian Church, Hickory and Broad Streets, Mankato. The Visiting Conductor will be Ann Lemmenes, Waupon, Wisconsin and several special musical selections will be presented by the internationally acclaimed Minneapolis Commodore Barbershop Chorus. The general public is invited to attend and participate in the 4-part congregational singing of 16 well-known Welsh hymns in English. There is no admission charge but a free-will offering wil be taken to offset expenses. Several hundred persons are expected to attend and participate in the singing of the hymns which are in a wide variety of denominational hymnals. The Festival will be in the format of the annual St. David's Day in Chapel Service held at Gustavus for over 30 years organized by Retired Economics and Management Professor Ellis Jones.
