Graduate Assistant Men's Soccer Coach in Athletics

Tyler Oliver joins Gustavus in 2019 as an assistant men’s soccer coach after spending last season as an assistant at Elmhurst (Ill.). 

At Elmhurst, Oliver’s primary responsibilities were recruiting, scouting, and game planning. He led or assisted in the recruitment of 20-plus incoming players for 2019 as well as coordinating, scouting, and recruiting schedules. His coaching responsibilities primarily focused around functional and positional group training of attacking players, as well as opponent specific training for back-four organization. 

Oliver played two years of collegiate soccer at Division I Eastern Illinois University, leading the team in goals and points during his sophomore year. Oliver closed his collegiate career at St. Thomas with a record of 40-3-3, including two regular season conference titles, two conference tournament titles, a NCAA tournament final four in 2016 and the elite eight in 2017.

Oliver is coaching at St. Croix Academy where he is responsible for the 01/02 Academy boys age group with his twin brother Justin. He holds USSF D, E and F licenses and will complete his C license in February of 2020.
