Masao Abe
Masao Abe is a Zen Buddhist scholar of the Kyoto School and Professor of Philosophy at Nara University of Education. He is a leading interpreter of Buddhism for Western audiences and an avid participant in Buddhist to Christian dialogues.
Abe served as the Rydell Professor in the fall of 2000. He gave a public lecture, "Standing between the East and the West; Buddhism and Interfaith Dialogue.”
