MAYDAY! Conference
Multicultural Sweden
“Multicultural Sweden” was the topic of Gustavus Adolphus College’s 32nd annual MAYDAY! Peace Conference to be held Wednesday, May 2, 2012, on the college campus.
Dilsa Demirbag-Sten, Swedish journalist and media contributor on such topics as integration and amnesty, opened the daylong conference at 10:00 a.m. in Christ Chapel. The afternoon schedule featured Swedish author and playwright, Jonas Hassen Khermiri, who visited Gustavus as the Out of Scandinavia, artist-in-residence. The day concluded with the final round of the MAYDAY! Oratory Contest featuring senior high school speech students.
