Topics covered in this workshop will include: The graduate school timeline, Searching for programs, Application materials like personal statements (what are they & how do I write one) or Resume vs. CV ( how to pick & how to write them), And more!
10:30 am: Ready, Set, Plan! How to Create Your 4-Year Academic Plan (Jane Lalim, Academic Support Center)
Discover how the "Rule of Thirds" approach helps you create a four-year plan that meets major requirements, general education requirements, and total credit requirements for timely graduation. Learn how MyGustavus tools like Progress reports, View a New Program options, Filtering on course searches, and creating a Timeline can assist in tracking and updating your four-year plan. Leave with a worksheet and basic instructions to get started.
11:00 am: Résumés 101 (Emilie Moeller, Center for Career Development)
Have you struggled with getting started on your résumé? Do you wonder if your résumé will stand out? In this session you will not only learn the basics on how to build a great résumé but how to target employers and careers based on skills you already have. You’ll walk away from this session with a draft of your résumé. Please bring your computer to this session and a draft of your résumé if you have one.
11:30 am: Funding Your Dreams: Exploring Nationally Competitive Fellowships (Pamela Kittelson, Fellowships Office)
Nationally competitive fellowships pay you to study languages, conduct research or live abroad to work or attend graduate school. Come find out the different types of fellowships that exist. It is never too early to dream big and find ways to have these prestigious foundations pay for it.

Thinking about your next job or internship? Learn how to start that search process, where to find specific resources for your interests, how to network, and how to ace your interview.
2:00 pm: Making the Most of Your Student Employment Experience (Erin Kuiper, Student Employment and Vocation Program Manager)
It doesn't matter if you already have a job, have only thought about maybe starting to look for one on campus, or working on campus hasn't even crossed your mind-You belong in this session! Join me to learn how student employment can deepen your connection to the Gustavus community and help build your toolbox for your next steps after college. Workshop your goals for this year's student employment or other part time job.

Whether you're struggling to start a paper, delaying an assignment you’ve been dreading, having trouble staying focused while studying, or finding it hard to begin or finish non-academic tasks, this 30-minute workshop will teach you a planning and visualization technique to help manage procrastination and boost motivation.
