Electronic Portfolio Assignment

Your Home Page

The homepage for your electronic portfolio welcomes the visitor. "Welcome to the Electronic Portfolio of _____________."

You will include an introductory paragraph explaining what the visitor will find at the site, why you created it, and contact information, such as name, mailing address, and email address. An educational quote of professional and personal significance, a picture or appropriate graphic, and a professional background will be included to create a homepage that is attractive and inviting.

There are no fewer than SEVEN links on the homepage: Educational Philosophy, Resume, EDU 241, Standards Portfolio, Major/Core Concentration, National Discipline-Specific Standard link, and Home. Students may also choose to have a link to a personal information page (About Me) provided it is professional in content and appearance .

There is an e-portfolio site map to help you understand what is included within the e-portfolio. Please refer to the e-portfolio file names sheet for a list of the Page Titles and corresponding file names for the pages in your website.

To prepare for teacher licensure, each student who completes the education program at Gustavus must show evidence that he or she has mastered the ten standards mandated by the Minnesota Board of Teaching. RUBRIC - EVALUATION OF THE OVERALL PORTFOLIO
Each individual page and assignment, such as webquest or newsletter, is graded individually and then the entire portfolio is evaluated at the end of the semester using the following rubric:

Writing and Editing - no spelling errors; written clearly and concisely 20 points
Content - all required elements are included; final draft format; instructor recommendations are addressed based on feedback we provided; language appropriate for professional audience 25 points
Design - uses a wide variety of format options including tables, lists, quotes, graphics; layout is varied using fonts, color, background color and texture, and white space is used effectively; a consistent and professional layout and format 20 points
Navigation - all links work; required navigation bar component is used on all pages 15 points
