Asha Lal TamangFaculty

Adjunct Assistant Professor in Sociology and Anthropology

I am a sociologist who works in the areas of “cross-culture, race/ethnicity and social justice”. My focus has been on addressing social inequality and improving access to health, nutrition, education, livelihoods, and other social services. I have worked with academic institutes, non-profit organizations, private companies, and government agencies.

Over the past 25 years, I have taught sessions on sociology, social studies, health sciences and research methods at schools, communities, and colleges. Most often, I have taught introduction to sociology, social inequality, social problems, qualitative methods, monitoring and evaluations, community health, health care service delivery, cultural diversity and social theories.

With some experience in quantitative research, I hold advanced expertise in qualitative research, and the application of cross-cultural engagement, community engagement, social inclusion, and Indigenous knowledge. I have written and continue to write in the areas of health, nutrition, ethnicity, civil conflict, migration, and spirituality.
Believing in my unique abilities to overcome challenges, I seek and pursue meaningful opportunities. I am keen to help individuals and groups to be fruitful by achieving their desired goals. The road has not always been easy, but with each new opportunity, I enhance my capabilities!
