Assistant Professor and Production Manager in Theatre and Dance

Lindsay joins the Department of Theatre & Dance at Gustavus in the Fall of 2023. She holds an MFA in Scenography (Theatre Design) from the University of Kansas with an emphasis in scenic and projection design. She recieved a BS in Mathematics and a BA in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Technical Theatre from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While at KU, Lindsay was the Instructor for Scenic Production, Lighting Production, and Costume Production, and was honored with the Ethel Hinds Burch Teaching Award. At Marquette, Lindsay was the assistant Technical Director/Production Manager.

With her degree in Mathematics and experience as a computer science instructor with Girls Who Code, Lindsay is interested in advanced technology for the theatre, including digital art, 3d modeling, projection mapping, live coded projection, video game theory, and computational media. Lindsay is especially passionate about and committed to accessibility in theatrical spaces.

Her design work has been showcased at KCACTF, where she earned three 1st Place National Costume Design awards, a 1st Place National Scenic Design award, and two 2nd Place National Scenic Design awards. She recently presented research at the United States Institute for Theatre Technology Conference in 2023. Lindsay's professional designs have been seen in theatres across the Midwest region, including Theatre In The Park (KS), The Phipps (WI), Tibbits Opera House (MI), and Hope Repertory Theatre (MI).

Originally from the Detroit, MI area, Lindsay is fond of midwestern weather (but ask her again come January). She loves digital art, from character design to 3d modeling and printing. She is an art history nerd and is looking forward to her next museum trip.
