
Lloyd O. Swanson Tennis Center at Gustavus Adolphus College
Gustavus Adolphus College has been selected to host the 2008 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships in May. The team championship will take place May 13-15 and the singles and doubles championships will take place May 16-18 at the Swanson Indoor Tennis Center and the Brown Outdoor Tennis Complex on the Gustavus campus. This will be the second time that Gustavus has hosted the NCAA Women's Championships as the Gusties also hosted the event in May of 2000. The Gusties, who have appeared in the NCAA Championships for 19 consecutive years, won the national title in 1990.
The NCAA Women's Tennis Team Championship consists of 47 teams, while the Individual Championships consist of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. The NCAA Team Championship Field will be announced on Monday, April 28 with first, second, and third round matches played on May 2-4 at sites yet to be determined. The winners of the eight regional tournaments advance to the NCAA Team Finals, which will take place May 13-15 at Gustavus Adolphus College.
