Description

President Bergman will speak in Daily Sabbath today to present the following awards to employees of the college.

The Eric Norelius Award has been created to annually recognize an administrative employee who has demonstrated exceptional service and dedication to Gustavus Adolphus College. The award was named in honor of Eric Norelius, who was the founder and first teacher of the school that became Gustavus Adolphus College. Norelius exemplifies the vision, dedication, and service emulated by the administrative staff.

The Augusta Carlson Schultz award has been created to annually recognize a support staff employee who has demonstrated exceptional service and dedication to Gustavus Adolphus College. The award is named in honor of Augusta Carlson Schultz, who exemplifies the dedication and spirit of service that has been characteristic of the many support staff who have served Gustavus and continue to contribute to the success of the College. In the late 1800s, 16-year-old Augusta Carlson Schultz became one of the first and youngest employees of the Gustavus Dining Service.
