Angelique Dwyer (Modern Languages, Literature and Cultures) published her creative non-fiction story written in Spanglish entitled "My Brother the Mexican" in the peer reviewed online journal PORTAL: Journal of Multidisciplinary International Studies, Vol. 14. Number 1 (2017) edited by renowned academic Paul Allatson. This piece is part of a collection of short stories under the same title, all of which deal with the process of identity negotiation between two siblings. Angelique hopes to continue publishing the remaining stories and present them as performance pieces in future conferences.

Kathy Lund Dean (E/M) has published two articles examining the increasing impact of the scholarship of teaching and learning on scholarly production as a whole. One was published in the Journal of Education for Business, the other in the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education. In separate news, three of Kathy’s articles published in the Journal of Management Education (two in 2008 and one in 2013) were among the top 10 most downloaded articles in 2016, garnering about 4,000 downloads among them. In June, Lund Dean and her colleagues presented a paper at the OBTC Teaching Conference for Management Educators entitled, “Just because we can doesn’t mean we should: Ethics in experiential learning.” In the paper they make the argument that moving from passive to active learning techniques requires specific skills that are rarely taught and supported, and this represents a significant ethical issue when facilitating activities with students. Finally, she and her co-editor for the Journal of Management Education have been re-appointed to another term, extending through 2021.

Thia Cooper (Religion) published an opinion piece entitled "What Does Liberty Look Like Now?" in the University of Edinburgh's Edit magazine, Summer 2017.

Medrano '14 published an article "Transgenerational effects of maternal and grandmaternal age on offspring viability and performance in Drosophila melanogaster" in the Journal of Insect Physiology.

Bjorn Kjelstad'17 (Spanish & LALACS) recently had an article he wrote in Spanish published while studying abroad in Guanajuato, Mexico as a senior. His article is entitled: "Peldaños de la Historia: Boletín del Archivo Histórico del Archivo General del Poder Ejecutivo de Guanajuato."
