  • Research Research is at the heart of the EGE Department. Many students co-publish studies with faculty and lead their own research through summer research and the First-Year Research Experience (FYRE). Learn more about your opportunities for scientific inquiry in the lab and the field.

  • Field Trips Environmental Studies, Geography, and Geology engage students and faculty together in the field to discover answers about our environment. From trips canoeing on local lakes to road trips through the national parks of the Southwestern U.S., we get students out in the world to learn.

  • Facilities and Instrumentation Tripling in size in 2020, Nobel Hall is a state-of-the-art, transdisciplinary facility that encourages students to collaborate everywhere, from the Sedimentary and Geomorphology Lab to department student lounges.

  • Study Away Study away opportunities broaden horizons and expand perspective for students in the EGE Department, from sustainability studies in Denmark to globalization in India.
