This position is also responsible for the “Spring Speaker” every other year (Previous speakers: Tarana Burke; Frank Abagnale).

Speakers invited to campus cover a wide variety of backgrounds in an effort to engage the student body as a whole, as well as individual interests. Major speakers are invited to campus every other year, trading with the Spring Concert. Previous speakers have included:

  • Scott Dikkers, founding editior of The Onion (April 2015)
  • Steve Murphy and Javier Pena, Drug Enforcement Administration (April 2017)
  • Tarana Burke, founder of the "Me Too" movement (May 2019)

During non-Spring Speaker years (even years) we will feature small to medium-sized speakers, as this is not as big as the Spring Speaker year.
