Ying DiaoFaculty
Ying is an ethnomusicologist and cultural anthropologist, and the author of Faith by Aurality in China’s Ethnic Borderland (2023). Her research explores how identities take shape through sound—touching on themes of Christianity, modernity and ethnicity in the China–Southeast Asia borderlands. She also works on the anthropology of China, as well as questions of transnationalism and artistic diaspora.
