The International Friendship Family program...which matches local families with incoming international students from all over the world, is now looking for more families! We have about 30 international students coming this fall from Japan, Vietnam, Ghana, Pakistan, Sweden, Germany, Mauritius, Malaysia, Bangladesh, France, Palestine, Cambodia, Jamaica, Morocco, India, Switzerland, Slovakia, Kenya, South Africa, Georgia, and New Zealand.

Would your family like to connect with one of these students? Friendship Families connect with their student in whatever ways they are comfortable with and however often suits their family needs. Some host families take students out for meals, while others invite students to their homes for holiday celebrations. Some families simply meet with their students occasionally to chat and catch up. Students appreciate the sense of family far from home. (Your family does not need to be a "traditional" family. A single person with no kids, for example, is still an excellent "family" member for an incoming student.)

For more information, please contact Carly Overfelt at overfelt@gustavus.edu, or 507-933-7546.

The shoes will be shipped to micro-entrepreneurs in developing nations who are looking for work opportunities to help themselves out of poverty. If you have questions, please email kayley.ronnkvist@gmail.com.
