President Cabinet Summary   

1.  Discussion was held regarding the Board of Trustees meeting in Sweden in June 2018.

2. Members approved the hiring of a Student Life replacement position (Administrative Assistant, Counseling Center).

3. Provost Kelly shared the institutional student learning outcomes draft proposed by the College-wide Assessment Committee. The Committee will be seeking the endorsement of the ISLOs from the faculty and other groups

4. To better reflect the work/activities of the office, members confirmed a name change – Office of Government Grants and Sponsored Programs to Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.

A Royal Affair - A Gustie Gala...Get your crown on for the biennial A Royal Affair fundraiser happening Saturday, November 11, at the J.W. Marriott Hotel - Mall of America. Enjoy an evening of incredible food, drinks, music, dancing, and spectacular silent and live auctions. Funds raised will create scholarships for first-generation college students with high academic performance and significant economic need, and strengthen the Gustavus library endowment. The night will be emceed by communication studies professor Phil Voight and Twin Cities sports and media personality Carly Aplin Zucker ’07. Radio host and pop/gospel singer Jearlyn Steele, and Gustavus student a capella group, LeGACy, will provide entertainment during dinner. Get your tickets now.

The Great Gustie Gathering – Homecoming 2017...Gusties of all ages and life stages will be on campus Saturday, September 23. The Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement invites all members of the Gustavus campus community (faculty, staff and current students) to join us in the fun! Community members are welcome to take advantage of the programming, including:

  • A variety of affinity reunions highlighting the Departments of Education, Communication Studies, Nursing, Center for International and Cultural Education, Diversity Center and more
  • The Family Fun Zone with inflatables, a petting zoo, crafts and photos
  • All-Gustie Lunch in the Evelyn Young Dining Room featuring music from the Floodplain Four
  • Homecoming Tent featuring the Gustie Pub beer garden and the Gustie Faire, a marketplace featuring Gustie-owned businesses
  • A special Alumni Dance performance

Children under age 18 are free of charge; employees and students can charge $10 per adult on their Gustavus account at the Information Desk, Jackson Campus Center on Saturday 9/23 which includes an exclusive Gustavus apparel item and access to the full day of events (meals can be purchased separately in the Market Place).
