Ovanlig Award

Established in 1999 by Tim Flatt '91 and Tracie Kurth '94, the Ovanlig Award is given to a current junior or senior who has "demonstrated leadership in raising campus awareness of gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender rights and concerns." The primary purpose of this endowed award of $2,500 is to provide encouragement and financial support to young people who desire a Gustavus education.

2019-2020: Amanda Braun

2018-2019: Amanda L. Jensen

Students who wish to be considered for this award must submit an application. If you know students who fit the criteria highlighted above, you may nominate them using the button below and the Dean of Students Office will send them an application form. You may also refer them to this website and encourage them to apply directly using the button below. Students do not need to be nominated to apply.
