Student Organizations

There are four student organizations in the Business and Economics Department. These clubs allow students, of all majors, to engage and learn outside of the classroom. They also provide opportunities for networking and career exploration.
Gustavus Accounting Club

The Gustavus Accounting Club exists to help students learn more about careers in accounting and potential opportunities that lie beyond Gustavus by fostering relationships between students, accounting firms and other professional organizations.

  • Attending networking events and information sessions with companies that often hire Gustavus graduates
  • 2 to 3 meetings per month depending upon the availability of firms interested in presenting

Investment Club Portfolio

Investments Club Portfolio

The E. Terry Skone Investment Club was established in 1997 by a generous donation from Terry Skone ’63 as a way to help students understand the complex world of equities and make informed decisions about a diversified portfolio. Since 1997, student leaders and members of the Club have actively managed a six-figure account, meeting weekly to discuss holdings, offer stock watch suggestions, evaluate buy and sell opportunities, and ultimately make decisions about the portfolio’s equities. Investment decisions are supported by the Club’s social responsibility statement and its investment guidelines.
