Paul BruningAlumni and Faculty

Dr. Bruning is Division Administrator for Sports Medicine, Hand Surgery, and the Sports Sciences Institute, Duke Orthopaedics Department, Duke University School of Medicine. Paul has been an active member in health care administration, and in athletic training serving on several Boards of Directors, and in Executive Leadership Positions. Dr. Bruning is a frequent speaker at conferences on topics from Health Care Policy, Value-Based Care, Patient Reported Outcomes, to Athletic Trainer utilization in ambulatory care practices and Residency Programs. In 2023, Dr. Bruning was inducted into the Minnesota Athletic Trainers Association Hall of Fame. He will serve as President Elect and then President of the American Alliance of Orthopoaedic Executives in 2026 and 2027.
