Marni Dunning

Associate Director for Instructional Services in Gustavus Technology Services

I have been here since May 2015 and I specialize in technology tools, instructional design strategies and effective practices for teaching. My goal is to teach faculty how to use technology in a fun and engaging manner so the students have a fantastic learning experience here at Gustavus.

I graduated from Mankato State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education. While trying to find my first teaching job, I worked at a MicroAge doing data entry and computer training. I moved on to New Horizon’s Computer Learning Company where I learned and taught a large variety of computer software programs on both mac and pc platforms, becoming a certified MS Office Expert. I worked at Mystic Lake Casino from 1997 – 2006 as a Senior Applications Training Specialists implementing Computer Based Training (CBTs) for all slots, blackjack and surveillance team members. Since Mystic, I have tried on some different hats –  working at Kroll Ontrack as a Technical Trainer/Writer and then at Lifetouch Portrait Studios, implementing eLearning and Moodle nationwide for over 4,000 employees. I spent the past 7 years at MSU Mankato working with faculty to implement technology into their courses, both face-to-face and online, before coming to Gustavus.

Check out the Instructional Services Webpage to learn how to can work together to implement innovative and engaging tech tools into your class :)
