The Summer Scoop for July 17, 2014
Volume 46, Number 2
President's Cabinet Summary
- Members approved increasing the Administrative Assistant in the Nursing Department from 20 hours/per week to 30 hours/per week to accommodate the scheduling of nursing clinicals. Since Gustavus’s payment to St. Olaf for MINC will be reduced in FY ’15, the savings will cover the costs of the additional hours.
- Members discussed possible agenda items for the August 6-8 Cabinet retreat. President Bergman will prepare a draft agenda prior to the next Cabinet meeting.
- The schedule for the August 27 opening reception for all employees was reviewed. A “State of the College” address will be given by President Bergman, Board Chair George Hicks, if available, will be asked to give a welcome and brief remarks, and the 2014-2015 institutional goals will be reviewed. A reception on Eckman Mall will follow the program.
- President Bergman indicated that planning will begin very soon for her inauguration, scheduled for October 3. A committee will be formed and will begin its work in the next few weeks.
- Members approved the hiring of a full-time Institutional Advancement replacement position (receipter).
