Parade Participants Wanted... Are you looking for a fun way to spend your 4th of July? What better way than to walk in a parade and show your Gustie pride! We are looking for volunteers to walk and pass out candy while representing Gustavus in the St. Peter 4th of July parade on Sunday, July 4th. We are also looking for people to dress up as the "Gustie” or "Gustina” mascot. Line-up is at 9:30 a.m., and the parade begins at 10:30. Since the Gustavus unit is near the beginning, we will finish by about 11:30, leaving you free to enjoy the rest of the festivities. Gustavus families are welcome! If you are interested, please contact Dean Wahlund (dwahlund or x7521) or Hanna Schutte (hschutte or x6213).

Summer Parking... Summer parking rules are now in effect. Visitor parking is still closed to students and staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; however, vehicles may be parked in any red, green, or yellow parking space without regard to permits. Fire lanes, sidewalks, and spaces reserved by signs (e.g., 30-minute, vendor/maintenance, head resident, etc.) will still be enforced.

E-Mail Signature Problem... Several offices have recently reported e-mail-related issues that may be a result of the new "Make Your Life Count" e-mail signature (including the "G" icon with the three crowns). Specifically, individuals have reported that their e-mails to off-campus recipients have been blocked by spam filters and/or that reply messages from off-campus are going into their spam folders. If you are experiencing such problems, we recommend that you remove the signature per the instructions below:

  • Mozilla Thunderbird - Click Tools > Account Settings and deselect the Attach the signature checkbox. If you have an old signature you'd like to use, you may instead click the Choose button and browse to the old signature file.
  • Apple Mail - Click Mail > Preferences > Signatures and select Gustavus from the left window, then choose None from the menu at the bottom of the dialog box. If you would like to revert to an old signature, you may select it from the same menu in place of None.

If you have questions about this, please call Jerry Nowell in Gustavus Technology Services at x6365. This notice was authorized by
Gustavus Technology Services and Marketing and Communication.
