News and Announcements

Policy Reminder... The Cabinet asks that members of the campus community adhere to the policy barring the use of College funds for gifts or other recognitions. The full policy is listed in the All College Policies as the “Policy Regarding the Use of College Funds to Express Condolences at the Time of a Death or to Recognize an Individual.” Here is an excerpt of the policy: “…expenditures for gifts or flowers that a department would like to make to recognize a colleague or other community friend or family member on any occasion, i.e., birth, retirement, illness, etc., are encouraged and must be paid for by funds personally contributed by members and friends of the department.” Thank you for your cooperation.

Are you participating in a Gustavus Health Insurance plan?...Join us for a presentation by Andrew Roos, our Blue Cross Blue Shield representative, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 23 in the Heritage Room. He will be sharing information about Preventive Care and ways to maximize your medical insurance benefits. For more information, contact Nicole Goebel.

Submit Your Information to the Parent Blog...Gustavus communicates with its parents electronically via a "Parent Blog" which comes out monthly from August - May. Currently over 2,500 parent emails are subscribed. If you have important information, deadline reminders, etc., that you think parents would be interested to know, send a pre-written post (less than 200 words please) to Megan Ruble. She will communicate with you about timing and appropriateness.

Discussion of the Challenge Curriculum...In cooperation with the Faculty Senate, the Curriculum Committee invites all members of the Gustavus community to discuss the Challenge Curriculum at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018 in Alumni Hall. We hope to have a comprehensive discussion of the Challenge Curriculum and any proposed amendments at the meeting so there are few surprises when we assemble to vote on the proposal at the April 27, 2018, faculty meeting.

We have created an "FAQ" document to address common questions. Prior to the meeting, please review it and the most updated proposal, which is on the CC revision website.

Saint Peter Weekly Newsletter...As we continue to find ways to strengthen our partnership with the City of Saint Peter we would like to share this link to their weekly newsletter. Be sure to read it for the latest information about the greater Saint Peter community.
