ABSTRACT:
The Photographs of Pioneer Activities and Places collection contains black and white photographs from 1855-1925. These include wheat threshing, logging and lumber, and iron mining as well as frontier housing, including sod houses. There are also photographs of St. Paul, Minneapolis, Duluth, Cloquet, Taylor’s Falls, and Hinckley in Minnesota, along with some from Wisconsin, one of the Dakotas, and Alberta, Canada.

There are no restrictions on use of this collection for research purposes. The researcher assumes full responsibility for observing all copyright, property, and libel laws as they apply.
Researchers must use collection in accordance with the policies of the College Archives, the Folke Bernadotte Memorial Library, and Gustavus Adolphus College.
