Announcement: Gustavus Mass Covid Testing

Audience:Campus
Description

With COVID-19 infection rates remaining high in the state of Minnesota, Gustavus will offer two more mass testing events before the end of fall semester. These events, held on Thursday, December 3 and Thursday, December 10, will be open to remaining on-campus students, off-campus students residing in Saint Peter, and College employees. Students who are no longer on campus and employees who work 100-percent remotely should not travel to campus for mass testing. These new testing events are to provide a convenient location for testing and to help support planning for students who will be leaving campus after the final exam period.

The events will be held in the Lund Center forum from 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. You must enter through the event entrance on the north side of the building by the Norelius Hall/Jackson Campus Center parking lot. No appointment is needed.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the previous 90 days, you do not need to be tested again. If you are currently experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, please contact the Health Service or go to https://gustavus.edu/healthservice/testing.php for more immediate testing options.

About the test

This is a saliva test (you spit into a small vial) that provides a 99% accuracy rate. Results will be sent via email within 24-72 hours. The test is administered by Vault Health.

Testing Protocol

  • Do NOT eat, drink, smoke, or chew gum 30 minutes prior to testing.

  • Bring a smartphone to complete the registration/testing process. (If you don't have a smartphone, a tablet will be provided.)

  • Bring your Gustavus ID to check in.

  • Allow 30 minutes for testing, along with additional time if there is a wait to test.

  • Wear a mask to the testing site and keep it on the entire time (lifting it up to spit into the vial).

The test is free. You will be asked for your insurance card, but it is not required.
