Where better to celebrate Arbor Day than at an arboretum? The Linnaeus Arboretum in late April provides a bounty of spring beauty within south-central Minnesota, and visitors are welcomed by a sight of colorful gardens, leafing trees, and a greening prairie that complement the natural landscape of south-central Minnesota.
Schedule of Arbor Day events:
- 10:00am - Sermon by Rev. Herb Chilstrom, Interim Director of Linnaeus Arboretum. Location: Christ Chapel.
- 11:30am and 2:30pm - Arboretum tour with Bob Dunlap, Arboretum Naturalist. Meet outside Interpretive Center. Come view the more visible and audible signs of spring present in the Linnaeus Arboretum.
- 4:30pm - Dance in the Arb. Come see the creative works of Dance Professor Melissa Rolnick's dance composition students adapted to the arboretum setting. World Dance Day is celebrated every year on April 29 and thus occurs on the same day as Arbor Day (the last Friday in April) this year. Location: outside Interpretive Center.
