Trees for Heart, Mind, and Spirit

Wednesday, April 21 - Friday, April 23, 2010

Held biennially around Arbor Week and Earth Day, Trees for Heart, Mind, and Spirit is a series of events offered during the lunch hours for both the Gustavus and St. Peter communities to explore the wonder and beauty of the Linnaeus Arboretum as a place to recreate, learn, and reflect. All events are open to the public.

Wednesday, April 21 - Trees for the Heart

  • Arboretum Fun Run - 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., meet at shelter outside Interpretive
  • Arb Cleanup - noon - 3:00 p.m., meet at shelter outside Interpretive Center

 

Thursday, April 22 - Trees for the Mind

  • The Woodworks of Mary Ann Osborne, Wood Sculptor (opening exhibit) - 11:30 a.m., Interpretive Center
  • Badgersett Research Farm - noon, Interpretive Center
  • Minnesota River Board - 12:30 p.m., Interpretive Center

 

Friday, April 23 - Trees for the Spirit

  • "In the Spirit of Trees" with Herb Chilstrom - 11:30 a.m., Interpretive Center
  • Qi Gong with instructor Char Lusher - noon, meet at shelter outside Interpretive Center
  • "Music Amongst the Trees" with members of the Gustavus Wind Orchestra - 12:30 p.m., meet at shelter outside Interpretive Center

 

Ongoing: Stop by the Interpretive Center between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on any of the above three days to receive your free tree sapling!
