Top Private College in Minnesota for Communication Studies (2023)

AAC&U Civic Learning "Top 22" (2017). The Gustavus Department of Communication Studies was recognized by the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) as one of 22 departments at institutions across the country that have been honored as a model for making civic learning and democratic engagement an expectation for all students who major in that discipline.

Communication Studies Course Receives National Award (2013). Public Discourse, an introductory course in Communication Studies, was honored with the Program of Distinction Award from the National Communication Association (NCA).

Rex Mix Program of Excellence Award (2012). This award from the National Communication Association commends the department's innovation and dedication to undergraduate teaching.
