Workshop Series for Student Employment Supervisors and Academic AdvisorsOctober 6, 2016 at 8–10 a.m.
A grant from the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) is supporting a college-wide initiative to encourage students to more deeply consider the connections between their values and their academic and co-curricular choices. The first phase of this project involves introducing to first-year students a vocabulary and strategies for more purposeful living and learning. To that end, a team of Gustavus faculty and staff have developed a series of four workshops to explore how student employee supervisors and academic advisors might enhance their relationships with student in order to help students more effectively align their talents and goals with their work and learning on campus. In this fall's series, we have ten available spots for people who supervise first year student employees and ten spots for faculty who advise first year students. Please plan to attend all four sessions.
