Womxn of Color SummitOctober 28, 2023 at 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Description

The Center for Inclusive Excellence, in partnership with Gustavus Women in Leadership and GustieWELL, is preparing to host the 5th Womxn of Color Summit here at Gustavus. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (breakfast and check-in begin at 8:00 a.m.).

This year's summit is themed "Perseverance: Her Journey", and will include multiple keynotes, engaging breakout workshops, breakfast and lunch, as well as an interactive afternoon session titled: The Dario Compassion Initiative, created by Gustavus student, Kate Dario. All aspects of this year's summit will be geared toward highlighting the unique journeys of womxn of color, as experienced through a broad lense of diverse backgrounds, fields, and passions.

Registration and attendance is free. Nevertheless, if you plan on attending...please REGISTER by Sunday, October 22, so that we can plan accordingly.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an interactive and engaging summit that began here at Gustavus back in 2017 as a comparable opportunity to the Annual Kente Summit for Collegiate Black and Brown Males that takes place in the Twin Cities. The inaugural event hosted over 100 participants, representing 11 Minnesota institutions of higher education. The main goals of this event include providing an opportunity for collegiate womxn of color to grow personally and collectively, while also providing an intentional space to connect and find affinity with one another.
