An award-winning poet, Lorena Duarte was chosen to participate in the 2007 Individual World Poetry Slam in Toronto this year. She also performs with Palabristas, a Latino Poetry Collective. In 2005, she was named one of the 25 Young Latino Leaders of Minnesota by the MN Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
