Andy Jacobs is a Minneapolis based interdisciplinary artist who works with the mediums of weaving, fiber, sculpture, and installation to explore themes of interconnectedness. Andy’s work straddles the lines of slow and urgent, personal and political, spiritual and scientific, while drawing inspiration from geology, deep ecology, ritual, and compost, her work is grappling with how to cope with climate change in an era of ecological devastation.
Based in her studio in the Casket Arts Building in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District, she has lived on both coasts, earning her BFA in Fine Arts from Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon, and her MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts at Maine College of Art and Design, in Portland, Maine. She has been an Artist in Residence at Vermont Studio Center, The Verdancy Project, and Light Grey Art Lab, and has shown work both locally and nationally.
