Earth Day Solar Field Dedication

  • Tuesday, April 22, 2025
  • 11:30 a.m. (Chapel Time)
  • Arbor View Solar Field: Arbor View Apartments off Jefferson (rain back-up location: Christ Chapel)

Join the Gustavus community for a public dedication of our new Arbor View Solar Field on Earth Day, Tuesday April 22 at 11:30 a.m.  President Bergman, Mayor Shanon Nowell, key leaders, students, faculty and staff will celebrate with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. This event is public and open to all community members.

Harnessing the power of the sun, this 1MW solar array offers a sustainable solution for reducing energy consumption here at Gustavus and is our largest renewable energy source on campus. The solar field will also serve as a dynamic research hub for students and faculty. This project is the culmination of years of advocacy, research and planning on behalf of students, staff and community leaders.

Sponsored by the Office of the President with support from the Office of the Chaplains and the Johnson Center for Environmental Innovation.
