The National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team was recently announced with a total of 56 Division III women’s collegiate golfers, including Kimbra Kosak and Rachel Roberg of Gustavus, recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team includes a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 66% of the college’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.

Kimbra Kosak, a Grand Rapids, Minn. native, was named honorable mention All-America as well as being named the Division III Kim Moore Spirit Award winner. Kosak turned in five top five finishes this season, and finished tied for sixth place at the NCAA Championships with a school-record total of 303.

Rachel Roberg of Rice Lake, Wis. was selected to the All-America First Team and named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Senior Women’s Player of the Year in 2008. She finished the season with a 79.7 stroke average, which is tied for the lowest season average in program history. A two-time All-American, Roberg did not finish lower than seventh place in 10 of the 12 tournaments she competed in this season.
