On July 1, 2008, Gustavus Adolphus College launched a new state-of-the-art alumni website at gustavus.edu/alumni. The site includes a variety of new features that allow the College’s more than 25,000 alumni to interact with each other as well as to receive information from their alma mater relevant to their own interests.

“We are excited to be expanding the opportunities for alumni on the Gustavus website,” said Director of Alumni Relations Randall Stuckey. “We always love hearing from alumni and encourage Gusties to make connections to the College and to connect with each other on their own. The new alumni website will provide tools to help the College utilize technology to better serve our alumni,” said Stuckey, who is a 1983 Gustavus graduate.

In production for two years, the site includes the following new enhancements. The ability to:

  • upload photos of yourself, other Gusties, and images from special alumni gatherings or activities;
  • access the secure online directory of Gustavus alumni;
  • send virtual postcards of campus scenes to others;
  • update your alumni news;
  • update your contact information;
  • read class letters and class webpages;
  • listen to daily chapel services at Gustavus;
  • learn about and become a career mentor to a current Gustie student;
  • access a calendar listing alumni gatherings, athletics competitions, fine art performances, exhibitions, and more;
  • order your Gustavus transcript;
  • apply for special alumni group-rate life, short-term major medical, auto, home, and rental insurance;
  • initiate permanent e-mail address forwarding;
  • post a resume or a job opportunity;
  • search or add yourself to the Gustie Yellow Pages, a listing of professional services provided by other Gusties;
  • shop for Gustavus clothing and accessories.

The new site requires alumni to enter in user names and passwords to personalize the site and to access private information. The site was developed in conjunction with Datatel — the College’s database software provider. In 2005 Gustavus launched a new, personalized Admission website, also customizable per users and powered by Datatel.
