Monday, June 30, 2008 (Last Year)

Tuesday, July 1 officially marks the beginning of Jack R. Ohle’s tenure as the 15th president of Gustavus Adolphus College. Ohle replaces James L. Peterson, who retired after serving as president of the College since July 2003.

Ohle begins his presidency at Gustavus after serving as president of Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa since 1998. Before accepting the presidency at Wartburg, Ohle served Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, for 11 years, first as vice president for institutional advancement and later as senior vice president for external affairs and secretary to the university. Prior to that, Ohle was vice president for advancement at Nebraska Wesleyan University for ten years. Other institutions served include Ohio Northern University and Muskingham College in New Concord, Ohio.

Ohle is married to Kirsten Lindquist Ohle. The couple has three adult sons: Robert, John, and Thomas.

Gustavus Adolphus College is a private liberal arts college in St. Peter, Minn., that prepares 2,600 undergraduates for lives of leadership, service, and lifelong learning.
