Gustavus Set To Host Men’s And Women’s Tennis NCAA Regional Tournaments

Gustavus Adolphus College set to host one of the eight NCAA Regional Tournaments for men’s and women’s tennis at the Brown Outdoor Tennis Complex in St. Peter. The women’s tennis tournament will take place Thursday, May 1 through Saturday, May 3, while the men’s tennis tournament will be held Friday, May 2 through Sunday, May 4.

Six teams will participate in the single-elimination NCAA Women’s Tennis Regional Tournament, including Gustavus Adolphus (22-8), Wheaton (Ill.) (21-3), Coe (22-3), Grinnell (12-2), Wisconsin-Whitewater (20-8), and St. Scholastica (13-3). The winner of the tournament will earn a spot in the NCAA Team Quarterfinals to be held at Gustavus on May 13-15.

Five teams will participate in the single-elimination NCAA Men’s Tennis Regional Tournament, including Gustavus Adolphus (27-5), Wisconsin-Whitewater (19-7), Texas-Tyler (17-6), Luther (29-9), and Carthage (14-8). The winner of the tournament will earn a spot in the NCAA Team Quarterfinals to be held at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine on May 13-15.

If weather permits, all matches will be contested at the Brown Outdoor Courts. In the event of rain, the adjacent Swanson Tennis Center will be used. The tournament website will provided match updates after the completion of doubles play and the completion of singles play.
