JOB SUMMARY:  The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Health & Exercise Science (HES) department and faculty. 

Employment Type: Part-time (.23 FTE), Non-exempt (Hourly), Non-Benefits Eligible

Schedule: 10hpw/40wpy (academic year), 6hpw/12wpy (summer)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage the HES Office and Academic Spaces
    • Order/purchase office supplies, create and print door signs and schedules, administer HES promotional communications and materials, facilitate department event planning, and attend department meetings
    • Serve as the HES Office main point of contact
  • Supervision
    • Assign student workers daily/weekly tasks and oversee their activities
    • Approve student worker and Teaching Assistant (TA) timesheets
  • Departmental Budget
    • Reconcile all receipts with Wells Fargo every month
    • Process invoices, requests for payment, purchase orders, or interdepartmental transfers
  • Travel & Visitors
    • Help with travel arrangements, itineraries, and reservations for faculty, staff, prospective employees, or campus visitors.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Prerequisites

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and office management skills
  • Experience managing and/or tracking a budget
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Google products (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, etc)
