Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for a Graduate Assistant Football / Strength & Conditioning Coach with the department of Athletics. This is a restricted earnings position spanning from January 3, 2022 to December 18, 2023.  Start and end dates are negotiable, but a two-year commitment is preferred. The months of June and July will present opportunities for the Graduate Assistant to pursue additional educational experience. Full-time staff will assist in finding paid summer internship/coaching opportunities for the Graduate Assistant, if desired.

The Assistant Football / Strength & Conditioning Coach will be a committed developer of young people, a builder of relationships, and a solver of problems. For the complete duration of the academic year, this Coach will work hands on with the Football Staff and Director of Strength & Conditioning to serve Student-Athletes in multiple capacities. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: assist in the planning and conducting football practices, assist in the planning and conducting strength & conditioning sessions, and recruiting prospective students who identify with the values of Gustavus Adolphus College and Gustie Football.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Certified or seeking certification by NSCA (CSCS) and/or CSCCa (SCCC)
  • Certified in CPR/1st Aid
  • Enrolling in a master’s degree program
  • Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules and regulations
  • Commitment to the values of Gustavus Adolphus College and Gustie Football
  • Desire to become a better coach and to make an impact in the lives of young people
